Sterilization of lVC Cage Box
1.Select sterilization methods according to the materials of plastic cage boxes
selected which usually include high-pressure steam sterilization,dry heat sterileza.
tion,Co60 radiation sterilization,and chemical sterilization.
2.Polycarbonate(PC)cage box is not suitable for frequent high-pressure steam
sterilization.In order to reduce damage to the cage box by the high temperature
sterilization,to extend the useful life of the cage box,and to maintain transparency
of the cage box,it is proposed that chemical sterilization and high-[ressire stea,
sterilization are used alternatively.Experiments show that sterilizing the lVC cage
box with peracetic acid solution in 0.5 percent concentration for 12 hours has the
same effect of 134°C sterilization for five (10)miutes.
